First step: Lineart. This took way too much time since I fucked up and made it all the wrong way.Anyway, the lines did turn as smooth as I had hoped, so let's just go with it.
My plan is to achieve something close to Nise MIDI Doronokai's painting, so wish me luck.
Step 2: Flats.After carefully filling/painting in the flats, I saved them in a separate channel (yes, channel, not layer) for easy selection, should I need it later on. I have all the colors in one layer.The lines are on a separate transparent layer, which makes it easy to lock the pixels and paint the lines.The background is a neutral beige color to make the colors tune in better.
Step 3: Block in rough colors.Just to see what range of colors I'll be going to use, I'll smooth it out later, of course. Since I have the flat colors to select areas from elsewhere, I can work on any area I like.
