She sounded more intelligent and reasonable in the manga, but in the anime she was like one of those stuck up rich bitches with a softer side to her. At first she was like a bitch, but then she showed her true feelings to Jum. Hell, I like both versions. Whichever way I look at it both Shinkus are awesome.
bump. We need a discussion thread here.
manga shinku was less stuck up
The manga handled her characther a lot better. In the anime ALL of the dolls seem unable to wind up and let go, in the manga desu appologies on occasion (on her own and means it) and shinku has moar open moments with jun.Pic related, one of the best characther devolpment parts of the manga.

I liked Shinku in the anime was a bit more comedic and soap-opera-ish, whereas the manga Shinku makes me feel all warm and cozy, aw shucks.
Oh plus I like grayscale / monochrome (for everything), so the manga overall wins.
Indeed, some of their exchanges in the manga are MUCH more meaningful and mature than the ones they have in the anime.Pic related, one such exchange between desu/dawa

>>652I think this is often true in a lot of series.I'm not sure if it is a coincidence, but the mangas which are usually black and white take a more serious tone. Cartoons, or 'anime', are usually very colorful and take a more comical tone.

>>653Agreed. That said the anime was still fukken awsome. Im assuming that peach-pitt pretty much controlled its devolpment as they did the manga.

not really, ep12 of season 1 had the most meaningful exchange between jum/stinku imo
>>656Oh Im not denying it was good, but she opens up more in the manga. That said the anime/manga might as well be considerd two seperate sets of characthers, because they operate differntly (sublte differnces but diffrences nontheless) and generaly act a tad differntly.

animu shinku was more tsunderetherefore better
animu shinku was more tsundere
therefore better
>>658Manga Shinku was just as rsundere, however she was done better as far as the extremes. She slaps jun around and shit, but she also opens up to him more than just talking sweet like in the anime. Telling ones fears is much more than just talkin pretty.

>>659you misjudge the power of things left unsaidfrom the way Shinku's face sparkled with delight at the music box that Jun bought for her, to the way her face became marred with regret when she realized she inadvertently hurt Jun's feelings in Oveurture, and even when she cozily nestled herself in the crook of Jun's arm when she woke up to the fact that she was going home with him after the final encounter with Barasuishou, there are plenty of moments in the anime where her personality is conveyed though body language that were never expressed in the mangafurthermore, her episode of internalizing problems at the beginning of traumend reveals that Shinku is more similar to Jun than she cares to admit, and her confrontation with Suigintou after the revelation that she had been revived not only spoke volumes about her personality, but also made it clear that her personality was dynamicas in real life, sometimes character must be derived from other means than putting it straight into words and made plain as day

>>660indeed, I LOVE that aspect of the anime. However I like how the manga shinku is at times able to come out and say the shit that matters.

>>661as a man, I would agree to this because I don't like playing guessing games with girlsbut as an anime fan, I'd say it takes away from the believability of the charactervery self-contradicting, I amas to your original post, though, I'd say that Shinku in the manga could also use some working on because she seems much more aloof than she was in the anime
